I've looked up the butterfly online and it's definitely a Speckled Wood Butterfly. The web page said: "This butterfly has spread northwards in recent decades to colonise East Anglia, the Midlands and almost all of northern England in response to climate change." So I can now add that it's reached North-West Wales.
