Coincidence? I think not :-)

I had a hygiene appointment with the dentist this morning. Everything was fine and I don't need to go again for another 6 months. I arrived 5 minutes early, but then had to wait for nearly 30 minutes to be seen. As I was doing the crossword on my phone, I was amused by this juxtaposition. I doubt it was coincidence.

For my non-UK readers, PM's tenure outlasted by a lettuce.
In other news, we went to vote this morning. In our area it was just voting for the police commissioner thingy. I'm annoyed that they changed the voting to FPTP so we have to vote tactically in the hope of stopping the Tory winning. (Tory who is using the 20 mph speed limit to dog whistle right-wing voters.) In the past, we could put our first choice, even though in fact our second choice was the one who actually won.
Anyway, one reason for voting was to check that G's expired passport would be accepted as valid photo-ID. It was, so we know we'll be OK for the general election, whenever that eventually happens. I have not only a current passport, but also a driving licence with photo and an old person's bus pass, but G stopped driving a few years ago, so never applied for the new style licence and he hasn't bothered to get a bus pass either.
And in other other news, I checked my credit card account online just now and the Watchshop have completely refunded the amount we paid for the watch that was dead on arrival. So that's a relief. Bizarrely I've had no email from them so was prepared for a fight to get the money back if I hadn't heard anything by next Monday, but there it was! So that's one problem solved.
