Tŷ Brics (Brick House)

This week's theme was: O is for Oddity

Buildings made of brick may be the norm in many towns and cities, but I think this is the only one where I live. It's name is Tŷ Brics (Brick House). All the other buildings are of stone, or, if modern, of breeze blocks with a rendered finish.

It's kinda quaint, but the sheer danger makes me shudder. (I feel the same about stone houses). Lots of people here have brick veneer, and even that gets cracked in quakes.

We did have an earthquake in the mid-80s, but compared to California, it was very minor. I think someone had a piece of guttering fall off. We're nowhere near a plate boundary and the few geological faults are small an inactive.
